The choice to replace outgoing Council Member Jacklynn Walters should, IMHO, be pretty obvious. Laurel Stiffler has both the intelligence and common sense to continue to pursue goals that would be beneficial to the residents of not just Ward IV but, as a council member, the entire city of Shawnee. She will pursue appropriate tax reductions, especially since Shawnee has been able to maintain an above recommended level of financial reserves. She will insure that any incentives for development are not only equitable for the developer but also for the citizens of Shawnee. Why? Because she will be an advocate for the citizens, not the government of Shawnee.
We do not need a council member for Ward IV like Erin Aldridge. An individual who is a member of a political party that has a history of tax and spend at all levels of government, to the detriment of the citizens of the governed entity.
If you live in Ward IV and you truly want dedicated representation on your city council then Laurel Stiffler deserves your vote.
